Owner's Description

Medal, 1936, AE (Gilt), LONG ISLAND TERCENTENARY, New York, United States, HK-694, So-Called Dollar, NGC MS64, Cert# 2527473-004. Obv. Bust of Indian Facing Right, at Right is Bust of Puritan Settler facing Left, dates 1636 / 1936. Rv. Vertical Rectangular Shields (Fasces) Spread-Winged Eagle Below Clutching Branch with Talon, Arrows in the other Talon, Shield and Star on Eagle's Breast, Long Island's First White Settlement. Scarce. The Collection also has a separate bronze example with no Gilt and brown surfaces.
