Owner's Description

This is a silver Gros of Rennes issued by Francois II of Brittany France (1458-1488)

I purchased this coin on eBay. This also was purchased on eBay. It was simply list as an unknown hammered English coin. I knew it was not English, but was not sure what it was. All I knew for sure is that it was in great conditon and boldly struck and had to be worth what I paid for it - $156.

(from the internet) The obverse shows six Ermine tails in a shield and the revese shows a stylized cross.
