Cornelius Lentulus: 88 BC: Sear #254: Cr. 345/1 Grade: AU: Strike 4/5: Surface 4/5 Obv.: Bust of Mars seen from behind Rev.: Victory driving biga right, holding wreath and reins. In exergue: CN. LENTV - the reverse of this coin is wonderfully struck Census - NGC does not provide census info on ancient coins :>( Roman Republic coinage of the family Cornelia It is likely that this coin commemorates the victory of M. Claudiu m.f. m.n. Marcellus over Hannibal in the second Punic War with the capture of Syracuse in 212 BC. My cost for this coin was $100
