Owner's Description

Cincinnati Industrial Exposition of 1871 Graded XF-45 Oh-Ci-52A WM Reeded Edge Obv. Buildings at center: INDUSTRIAL/1871 above. EXPOSITIION/./ CINCINNAT below Rev. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE/BOARD/OF TRADE/OHIO MECHANICS/INSTITUTE/TOTAL EXHIBITING/SPACE/289,094 FEET This was the second of eighteen such Industrial Exposition held in Cincinnati. Industrial Expositions were held in Cincinnati from 1871 to 1888 and all had tokens/medals issued for them. Revenues earned by this expo fell $14,000 short of covering its cost and this short fall had to be made up by its guarantors. I picked this piece up while I lived in Cincinnati. I can not remember what I paid but I know it was $15 or less.
