Owner's Description

United States Modern Commemorative Coinage Silver Dollar Commemorating the 2002 Winter Olympics at Salt Lake City, Utah 2002-P Proof-70 Ultra Cameo Census - 1,884 NGC graded coins - 183 with this grade - 0 graded higher The obverse of the coin features the crystal emblem of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games against the "rhythm of the land" with the Olympic rings below. The inscriptions read "Liberty", "XIX Olympic Winter Games", "Salt Lake 2002", and "In God We Trust". The reverse features the skyline of Salt Lake City with the Rocky Mountains in the background. The "rhythm of the land" appears in an arc above. The inscriptions read "XIX Olympic Winter Games", "E Pluribus Unum", "One Dollar", and "United Sates of America". A surcharge added to the cost of each coin helped support the Olympic Games. At one time I had all the modern commemoratives starting with the Washington half dollar and ending with the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics. However it became necessary to sell almost all my modern commemoratives. My collection now contains just ten modern commemoratives and this is one of them. I kept this one because as an ultra cameo proof I just loved the contrast between the frosted design devices and mirror flat surfaces. So folks that is why it is here.
