Owner's Description

Brilliant white on black cameo. The color is stark white and only a shadowy hint of gold toning is found in the fields. Well contrasted between the reflective fields and devices, with ample frost piled high on the devices. It is of importance to note that the mintage for this issue was a scant 460 coins, apparently demand fell off with the horrors of the Civil War unfolding so close to Philadelphia, so collectors were ordering fewer proofs.
