Owner's Description

Raw coin purchased in February of 2010 from a Spanish Ebay seller. This was my first experience with Spanish collectors/sellers -- I have had good transactions with all of them -- and the first of many coins that I have "brought back to the New World". 1777 marks a year of transition in Mexico City assayers -- the initials F.M. are for Francisco de la Peña and Manuel de Rivera -- and is the last year of this pairing. This coin has a small stain spot on the shoulder and exhibits some weakness in the crown so I was happy to see it graded at AU.
