Owner's Description
NGC graded MS 65
Variety: V-2
Ex: John Jay Pittman
This coin is sharply struck. Signs of contact are difficult to find. The luster is good, but perhaps subdued by a sandblasted appearance, especially on the obverse. Clash marks are apparent, mostly within the wreath. There are numerous die cracks, including those mentioned for the variety in Valentine. It is a very pleasing coin, with Pittman Collection pedigree as a bonus.
I obtained this piece from a Teletrade auction. Having nearly completed my middle and late date large cent sets, I had recently started looking at their half dime offerings. This coin stood out as a prime target, and I was fortunate enough to be the high bidder.
Luster: 2/2
