Owner's Description

An unsung condition rarity from the later Liberty half eagle series, the 1899-S is equally as elusive as the 1898-S in the finer Mint State grades. This Gem has swirling mint luster and a very sharp strike. The coin is a potpourri of colors; the base is orange gold with richer orange/rose gold toning and splashes of lilac accents. A very interesting coin! Purchased from Dave Weygant.
