Owner's Description

The ’76-S is nearly as rare as the ’76-P. Only 4,000 were minted and only 49 grading events have occurred at NGC and PCGS combined. Like all ’76-S half eagles, there is a mint made punch mark in Miss Liberty’s earlobe. This mint made punch has occurred on at least three other coins in the half eagle series; 1844, 1849 and 1851-C. This sun-gold coin has rich frosty cartwheel luster. The coin is very “clean” overall and has exceptional eye appeal. Heritage 1/11: 5119.
