Owner's Description

Winter Variety 1-B. This crusty original coin is a textbook ’72-CC half eagle. The strike on both the obverse and reverse are soft at the centers but are strong at the periphery; each of the stars show full radial lines. The luster is somewhat atypical because it is frosty and exhibits pleasing cartwheel effect when rotated in the light. The color is yellow-gold with splashes of orange-gold toning throughout. Purchased from Doug Winter.
