Owner's Description

Winter Variety 1-B. This example has a better strike than most ’77-CC. On the obverse, there is slight weakness on the hair and curls and on star 6. The reverse shows weakness on the arrow heads and feathers. The luster is frosty and the color is a light orange-gold. In high grade the ’77-CC is a sleeper in the Carson City Half Eagle collection. There are only five coins graded AU58 and one coin in mint state (the MS60 and MS62 in the PCGS population are purported to be the same coin). Purchased from Heritage Rare Coin Galleries.

NOTE: This coin needs to be reholdered; the obverse holder is very cloudy with scratches.
