Owner's Description

Winter Variety 2-B – The 1873-CC is the rarest half eagle from Carson City. This coin has a reasonably good strike for a ‘73-CC which notoriously have weak strikes. The residual luster is frosty and the color is an orange-gold with reddish overtones. The coin is very “clean” with no major hits. Purchased from Barry Stuppler; ex: Ron Karp.
NOTE: The haziness at the bottom of the reverse is on the holder, not on the coin.
