Owner's Description

Winter Variety 38-CC (Medium D). The Medium D variety is substantially scarcer than the Large D variety. Like most ’55-D half eagles, the strike on this coin is very soft in the centers. The luster is frosty and the color is caramel with rose-gold highlights. The reverse die is rotated slightly clockwise. Die polish lines are seen clearly in the lower reverse fields. Purchased from Doug Winter.
