Owner's Description

Winter Variety 31-W. The strike on this example is textbook ’51-D in that it is weak in the centers. The curls on the obverse are very weak and the arrow feathers and claws are weak on the reverse. The eagle’s neck feathers and the shield are surprisingly strong. The luster is frosty and is plentiful on both surfaces. The color is green-gold with an overlay of reddish tones in the protected areas. Purchased from Doug Winter.
