Owner's Description

Winter Variety 2. Typical of most examples of the ’54-C half eagle, the strike is weak at the centers. Also, consistent with the variety, the mint mark was lightly entered in the die so the mint mark is weak. However, the mintmark is clearly visible and the coin did not receive a “Weak C” designation from PCGS. Atypically for a ’54-C, the luster on this coin is excellent and highly reflective. The color is a deep green-gold. There are die clashes in front of Liberty’s mouth and neck. Purchased from Doug Winter.
