Owner's Description

Winter Variety 1, Die State 1. The strike on this coin is stronger than the two previous years, but not nearly as strong as 1857 and 1858. There is characteristic weakness on the curls around the face, below the ear and on star one. On the reverse, the feathers show some weakness. The color is sunset gold and the luster is frosty. The abrasions are light with no major marks. A lovely "end of series" coin. Purchased from Doug Winter.
