Owner's Description

Of the two varieties for 1842 Half Eagle from the Philadelphia Mint, the Large Letters variant, identified by tall letters that are roughly twice the size of the Small Letters, is considered rarer. This Choice AU example offers light green-gold surfaces and sharp detail throughout, with just a touch of friction over the highest points. Heritage 8/14: 3864.
