Owner's Description

The 2002 Winter Olympics were held in Salt Lake City, Utah. Utah became the fifth state in the United States to host the Olympic Games.
There was much controversy to the Olympic games in Salt Lake City, from bribery to get the Games there to judging controversies. Several IOC members were forced to resign and pair's figure skating officials released from the Games.
TIDBIT: The Salt Lake City Olympic Games were the first ever to be opened by a sitting President. FDR and Nixon opened their Olympic games, but only as Governor and Vice-president.

The 2002 Olympics Silver Dollar was struck at the Philadelphia Mint for proof coins and the Denver Mint for the uncirculated strikes. The coins were sold individually in a two coin uncirculated set or a four coin set that consisted of proof and uncirculated.
