Owner's Description

Woodrow Wilson Mann, the mayor of Little Rock asked President Eisenhower to send federal troops to enforce the integration and protect the nine students. Catalog #KM-418. NGC Universal ID: 28WH. Mintage: 125,370. Population: 1537. Pre-issue Price: $35.00. Regular Price: $39.00.
The uncirculated comments has an interesting FAST FACT in it. The mint struck both proof and uncirculated versions of the coin at the Philadelphia Mint. They were offered individually or as part of The Little Rock Coin and Medal Set that included the uncirculated strike and the 2007 American Legacy Collection that had the proof coin in it.
The reverse of the coin depicts the school as it appeared in 1957, and is still used today as an educational institution and is listed as being a National Historic Site.
