Owner's Description

The 300th anniversary of this very important person in American history, two different silver dollar designed commemorative coin were issued. First as his younger years as a scientist, and his older years as a statesman and Founding Father. The Scientist Silver Dollar obverse features an image of him flying a kite, this is representative of his experiments with lightning. The reverse features his famous political cartoon featuring a snake cut apart with the caption "join, or die".
This was intended to communicate that colonial unity was a mater of life and death.
