Owner's Description

The 2004 Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Silver Dollar was issued to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the famous expedition of the two explorers. The obverse shows Lewis and Clark standing planning another day of exploration, and the reverse shows the Pease Medal that Lewis and Clark presented to the Native Americans. The Philadelphia Mint produced both the proof and uncirculated versions of the coin.
LITTLE KNOW FACTS!!!!! Lewis and Clark were honored twice on postage stamps, in 1954 a three cent stamp, in 2004, a 37 cent stamp, and a ten dollar bill they were honored along with the American Bison in 1901.
