Owner's Description

The 2006 Benjamin Franklin Founding Father Silver Dollar features a bust figure of an older Franklin with his signature below. The reverse shows a copy of a 1776 Continental Dollar with modern lettering around the rim.
FAST FACT: Benjamin Franklin was the ONLY person to sign a four major documents instrumental to founding the United States.
The designers for the Founding Father coin was for the obverse, Don Everhart, and Donna Weaver for the reverse.
On July 26, 1775 the Second Continental Congress established the United States Post Office, and named Benjamin Franklin as the first United States Postmaster General.
Franklin was also Ambassador to France for nine years.
