The 400th anniversary of the settlement of Jamestown, Virginia marked the issuing of a commorative Silver Dollar. There were three ships that carried 105 new settlers to the New World to establish a permanent English settlement. This in what is now known as the United States of America. The obverse depicts three individuals of different diversity to represent different cultures that came together. The reverse depicts three ships that carried the new settlers.
The 400th anniversary of Jamestown had also been the subject of the Virginia State Quarter released in 2000. The Jamestown Silver Dollars went on sale at the United States Mint on January 7, 2007. Both the uncirculated and proof versions of the Jamestown Silver Dollard were struck at the Philadelphia Mint.
