Owner's Description

2011 MEDAL OF HONOR Commemorative was issued to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the highest award for valor in action against an enemy force and recognize it's recipients.
The obverse was designed and sculpted by Jim Licaretz. Also designing and sculpting the reverse was Richard Masters.
The obverse shows the Army, Air Force and Navy Medals of Honor, while the reverse shows a touching depiction of one soldier carrying another on his back to safety. The proof was struck in Philadelphia, while the uncirculated was minted at the San Francisco Mint.
