Owner's Description

The 2012 United States Mint issued the Star Spangles Banner Silver Dollar to commemorate the War of 1812. The Star Spangled Banner, the national anthem was formed at the Battle of Baltimore. The obverse of the coin which is designed by Joel Iskowitz shows Lady Liberty waving the flag consisting of 15 stars and 15 stripes, with Fort McHenry in the back ground.
The reverse of the coin designed by William C Burgard II shows a image of a modern day flag waving. The Star Spangled Banner Silver Dollar commemorative sales began on March 5, 2012 at the Mint. They were available in proof and uncirculated or as part of a two coin set.
