Owner's Description

This is the Defenders of Freedom series. I will replace it with the standard brown label when I get one. Not to distract from this ones beauty, but I would like to have them all in the Brown label.
To commemorate the legacy of the United States Army Infantry and establish a National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center was the idea to issue the 2012 Infantry Soldier Silver Dollar.
DID YOU KNOW? The announcement of the coin was prior to the kick off of the Fort Benning Doughboys and the Columbus State University Cougars on October 27, 2011. The coin toss was done using a prototype of the commemorative coin.
Because the prototype was struck with a bullion finish it was not approved for commemorate coins and therefore kept by the US Mint and eventually destroyed.
Mintage: TBA. Population: 102. NGC Universal ID: 2TXD. Catalog #KM-529. Pre-issue price: $49.95. Regular price: $54.95.
