Owner's Description

The Olympic Rowing events took place at Lake Lanier, Georgia. The 1996 Rowing events saw the debut of lightweight rowing events. The three included Men's Lightweight Doubles scull and Coxless Four, and women's Lightweight Doubles scull.
The Obverse shows four men rowing and the reverse has the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games mark.
This Olympic Rowing commemorative with a mintage of only 16,258 and a current population of 117, is notably one of the more highly sought after Olympic coins.
The 1996 Olympic coins make up a program featuring a staggering sixteen coins minted in clad, silver and gold. It ran for two years.
The obverse is of a rowing team and the reverse is of the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games.

The uncirculated was struck in Denver. Production never came close to the 100,000 authorized and the coins were offered individually or as part of several different sets.
