Owner's Description

The Paralympics is a multi national multi sport event involving athletes with a wide range of physical and intellectual disabilities. There are winter and summer Paralympic Games, and since 1988 in Seoul, South Korea they are held immediately following their respective Olympic Games.
WOW! I DID NOT KNOW THAT!!! The Paralympic Games were started in 1948 by a small group of British WWII veterans.
The Paralympians strive for equal treatment with non-disabled Olympic athletes. The first official Paralympic games were held in Rome, Italy 1960. And the first Winter Paralympics in 1976 in Omskoldsvik, Sweden.
