Owner's Description

The Civil War was a contest of ferocity and frequency of battles. Over four years, 237 named battles were waged and many, many more skirmishes.
The Civil War prompted the industrial revolution. One of the most notable things to come about was the innovations to the Navy. The ironclad warship evolved and the modern Navy was well on it's way.
Some of the costs of the war are 3% of the nations population were casualties. 8% of all white males aged 13 to 43 died in the war including 6% in the North and 18% in the South.
