Owner's Description

The Vietnam War tallied 58,220 American deaths, and 303,644 wounded. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall is in Washington D.C. It has scale size replicas that travel throughout the United States every year to give people a chance to see what the memorial looks like close up. It is a 3/5 scale of the original in the nations capitol. It is 300 feet long and six feet high.
The traveling wall stands as a reminder of the great sacrifices made during the Vietnam War.
John Devitt, Norris Shears, Gerry Haver, and other veterans built the moving wall, and it went on display for the first time in Tyler, Texas on October, 1984.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Silver Dollar was part of a themed commerative involving three coins. The others being, Women in Military Service Memorial, and the Prisoners of War Memorial. The coin was issued to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, DC.
The obverse depicts a hand reaching out to touch the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.
The reverse depicts three military ribbons.
