Owner's Description

With the redesign of the reverse on the Type 2, collectors will notice the eagle next to the Liberty Bell has a greater definition in its feathers than the Type 1 had (only 3 flight feathers instead of the 4 displayed on type 1's) and the definition on the bells detail is less sharp. Type 2’s are more readily available in the open market and acquiring a cameo or ultra cameo is still a target collectors aim for. It is assumed that many 1956 Franklins succumbed to the silver boom of the late 70’s and early 80’s when silver went to the $50.00 / troy oz. range and were melted down.
The type 2's display some of the finest, most stunning ultra cameo's in the entire series. It is every collectors desire to attain one, though most it seems, have already been graded through one of the third tier grading companies. One can only hope that given this fact there are still a few undiscovered gems out there.
