Owner's Description

CYPRUS, QUEEN VICTORIA 9 PIASTRES 1901.

OBVERSE: Crowned and veiled bust of Victoria facing left.
REVERSE: A crowned shield containing a lion rampant. The crown rests on a scroll inscribed CYPRUS. The shield dividing the date 1901.
ENGRAVER: George William De Saulles.
DIAMETER: 23.7 mm
WEIGHT: 5.65 g
EDGE: Grained.
FINENESS: 0.925 (Sterling standard).
MINTAGE: 600,000
RARITY: Common, but extremely rare in EF and UNC condition.

A very solid and attractive coin with deep pastel toning.
Features a good strike and considerable remaining luster.
