Owner's Description

THIS COIN: This original coin is surprisingly clean and lustrous. The obverse has moderate golden brown color. The reverse boasts a blend of deep navy and aqua blue, purple and burnt orange. Miss Liberty and other devices are well struck. Captivating eye-appeal!
BACKGROUND: This is the first year of Carson City coinage of the Trade Dollar. Mint records indicate a total os 124,000 business strikes. Of this total, delivery figures indicate 2,580 pieces were released to local depositors with nearly all the remainder shipped to China. High grade mint state examples are very scarce.
