Owner's Description

This is an awesome "mint set" toned coin. I picked it up on a Wednesday night auction by Teletrade. 11/03/10 The bidding was spirited and I only won it by taking a "sniper shot" with mere seconds left in the auction. This coin was "won" on Wed. shipped on Thurs. And arrived the next day Friday at 10:30 am.

The obverse has an abundance of color with "burnt orange being the dominant color. A dark purple band around the periphery from 6-12 O'clock, with splashes of "teal green" with some medium to light "pinks". The reverse is a very attractive light "gun gray" with multiple "colors" of the rainbow around the periphery from 6:O0 O'clock to 12:00 O'clock This Denver mint coin is much scarcer than its Philadelphia com-padre NGC has seen a total of 1,236 in all grades of "full bell lines". This is one of 86 coins that grade MS-66 with FBL and there have been only six graded higher by a single point at 67. This makes yet one more example I have up-graded this year to MS-66 FBL. This coin replaces a gorgeous NGC "multi-color" MS-66 without the FBL designation. The replaced coin that was moved to my #2 set "DOES" have the full bell lines, it's just that NGC is so very strict they failed to attribute the designation on the holder.

At this point in time, I have 31 of the 35 dates in the series. Of those, 20 are the much "stricter" grader, NGC and the other 11 are superb examples graded by PCGS. This is by far, my favorite "silver coin series". And I feel lucky and proud to have picked up this one more "great example" to go toward completing a set in MS-66 FBL. A truly "superior" specimen.
