Owner's Description

This is the first of what will hopefully be a number of certified cents in my collection. Originally from the Land of Lincoln, there is a bit of respect having seen Lincolns tomb and the story behind such a great man in American history. This PFRD70 represents one of over 1300 70's certified in 2005. In the last month, news about the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birthday is promoting the idea that the classic reverse of this coin will change, and possibly the obverse. The Lincoln cent represents the longest obverse printing in US Mint history (96 years +). Several friends have supported the idea that it is really the error pennies that make a Lincoln collection worthwhile because of the commonplace value of business and proof issues. I'd have to agree, however, even they own a set or two of normal strikes. <br /> <br />
