Owner's Description

1883-CC GSA $1 NGC MS-66 NGC 258 in MS-66 (12 in MS-67, none higher)
There are also 10 in MS-66PL, 2 in MS-66DPL, and 1 in MS-67DPL).

The surfaces appear as if someone spray-painted on a near perfect satin-white sheen. The strike is powerfully sharp with well-chiseled detail on all the raised devices. Easily one of the best strikes in my GSA collection. One small line in the center of Liberty’s cheek, and an almost transparent abrasion in front of Liberty’s face are all that are keeping this piece from the MS-67 grade. A very light, diagonal streak of toning (probably resulting from the coin getting caught in the roller wheel of the counting machine) is barely visible at the lower section of the eagle on the reverse. A tan-colored speck of oxidation is visible in the left reverse field next to the eagle’s wing. With original box and certificate.
