Set Description:
The US Philippines grow on you. The rendition of Lady Liberty on the silver coins is beautiful, as is the eagle on the reverse.
The coins are extremely hard to find in uncirculated condition. Many dates among the bronze coins have never seen a red coin slabbed. Many, many dates throughout the series have never seen a gem slabbed.
There are, for instance, almost as many 1916-D Mercury dimes in gem condition as there are gem 10 centavos in the entire pre-commonwealth series.
Yet these coins typically sell for 1% of what a gem 1916-D Mercury with full bands would sell for.
I don't see how that disparity can hold. I think this series will soon come in for a massive rise in values as extreme scarcity collides with increasing popularity.
