Owner's Description

The example note in this Set is a 5 Francs note from 1947 with M. Buy as the Director (P1e). There are a number of signature varieties for the 5 Francs note and the numbers/series etc are going to take some more research to understand. The front of the note depicts an indigenous male (left) and female (right) with a surround of sugar cane and an anchor indicating a major export of the region. The back highlights Amazonian flora and fauna, a caduceus as a further reference to trade and a female effigy possibly representing the Country. Two groups of five stars for the 5 Francs denomination?
