Owner's Description

This is a 5 pesos note (P252a), and the highest denomination from the first issue (Art. 36-Ley 12.155; 50 centavos, 1 and 5 pesos) of the Banco Central de la Republica Argentina and was issued from 1935 until 1948. A number of varieties exist for P252 which differ in the colour and titles of the signatories, the signatories themselves, and the Series, P252a uses the title Gerente general in blue, P252b uses Subgerente general in black and P252c reverts to Gerente general but this is now printed in black with the two series being Series D (1935-1946) and Series E (1946-1948). This note is an example of the first issue 1935-1943, Series D with Ernesto Bosch as the President and Raul Prebisch as the General Manager.
