The 1830 Medium Letters cent has its own Guide Book entry, and only the scarce N-6 die pair fulfills that listing. this variety is also one of the hardest of all large cent varieties to grade due to the typical blunt strike that is common to all surviving examples. The quality of the surfaces are a factor when grading all early coppers, and that is especially true for the 1830 N-6 cents. The light brown surfaces have a few inconsequential marks. Reddish-brown and pale blue overtones appear on both sides. This example is the second finest of just 12 examples that NGC attributes as the N-6 Medium Letters variety.
