Large 8 & Stars

Large 8 & Stars PCGS graded AU53. Frosty medium olive and steel brown. Satiny mint frost shows in the fields and protected areas on both sides and this cent has excellent eye appeal. The only notable mark is a tiny planchet lamination off the end of the wreath stem (as struck). MDS, Grellman state a, with the usual die cracks on the obverse, but the additional radial crack from the dentils over star 12 has not formed. A sharp, attractive example of the Large 8 & Stars variety. The attribution is noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label. 37105. Ex: Thomas D. Reynolds 9/10/2015-Chuck Hall Collection; Ex: Goldberg Sale 117 09/13/2020: 240 (lot ticket included); Ex: Early Cents Auctions 12/02/2023 lot 253 The Austin Coin and Currency auction.
