Owner Comments:
It is a well struck coin. It is the first key (chronologically)in the Morgan dollar series and it is the second rarest (after 1889-CC) of all Carson City Morgan dollars. Vam-3 variety is less common than the regular or large CC variety. The circulation strike was only 756,000 coins for both varieties together. The AU53 population is one of 25 with 644 graded higher by NGC as of 2/2007. There have been only 865 coins graded of that year by NGC so far. I think this coin is a keeper.
