Variety: V-3A

For the V-3A variety, Valentine wrote, "Same as No. 3, but the reverse die instead of being placed at a half turn, is placed at only a quarter turn." That is, a 90 degree rotation, and the direction was not specified. In fact, this die marriage can be found with a wide range of die rotations. The V-3 has close to the normal "coin turn", V-3A has the off-nominal rotations, and V-3b has a later state of the reverse die at close to normal rotation.
