Owner Comments:

The 1896 and 1898 are two of the best produced dates in the Barber half series. The surfaces display a pronounced two-toned contrast between the fields and devices. The fields are especially deep in their mirrored reflectivity. Almost completely brilliant, there is just the slightest hint of golden toning that decorates the fields and devices on each side. Myriad tiny die polish lines are seen on Liberty's portrait, lending a fully original appearance. Even close examination with a loupe fails to reveal any mentionable identifiers, spots or marks of any kind.
