Owner Comments:

With a mintage figure of 3,677 pieces, this is the scarcest Charlotte quarter eagle issue. The strike on this coin is slightly soft, but as only one die pair was used this is not unusual. The surfaces are smooth and attractive, and the overall beauty of the coin makes up for the typically weak strike. Original color abounds for a year that utilized a very high proportion of locally mined gold, a feature that can be easily appreciated by the southern gold collector.
