Owner Comments:
Though its mintage is similar to the Type 1 issue, the 1913 Type 2 Philadelphia nickel was saved in much lesser numbers. Still, it is plentiful in grades through MS 65 by the sheer numbers produced.
Though sometimes less than fully struck, these Type 2 coins are not as often plagued by eroded dies and severe die clashing.
Varieties include quite collectable doubled dies for both obverse and reverse, and these are recognized by NGC under its VarietyPlus Service.
