Like most Charlotte gold half eagles, mint state examples of this date are finally being recognized for their extreme scarcity. This piece has smooth, unbroken luster on each side, and less abrasions than typical for the date. Some strike softness is apparent, as should be expected. Overall a very pleasing specimen with an especially nice reverse.
