Another prime example of San Francisco gold, this coin is a real beauty, with excellent strike, pristine surfaces, and pleasing luster you would expect from a an MS-65 specimen. The 1916-S has a higher mintage than the 1915-S, but surprisingly is much harder to find. This year marks the last year Saints were minted until after World War I, as the Treasury suspended convertibility of dollars into gold for the duration of the war.
