Well, this is one of the classic key dates in the series, with a mintage of just 34,000. Despite this low mintage, the coin was widely saved and collected, so they can be found (though it may take a while to find the right one!). I find that the 13-S is much more available than other keys, like the 09-D despite the higher mintage on the latter. This coin has very satisfying luster and strike that belies the grade assigned. Other exciting events of 1913, Woodrow Wilson took office for his first term, and the income tax was put in effect!
